Charalampos Kydonakis’ new book “Back to Nowhere” featured on F-Stop Magazine. See the feature here.
As we approach the holiday season, UP Photographers is happy to announce two self-published offerings by members David Solomons and Charalampos Kydonakis.
David Solomons’ zine The League of Bald Headed Gentleman is a collection of photos on the theme of bald headed men, shot mostly in London. The set developed out of Solomons’ Instagram account, as he sorted through his archive putting together various sets of ten photos. This is the first of what will be a series of similar zines to be released in the near future. Solomons named the zine while trawling through iTunes, after stumbling on the titular song by The Fall. The edition size is relatively small, just 100 copies, and can be ordered here.
Back to Nowhere by Charalampos Kydonakis (aka Dirty Harry) is the followup volume to last year’s Warn’d In Vain. The two-book set is conceived as “a Minotaur inspired Cretan story”, told in photographs. Whereas Warn’d In Vain focused on New York City through the eyes of a traveler, Back To Nowhere was photographed in DH’s native Crete. According to Kydonakis, this is “the only place I’ll never have the chance to see…in the eyes of a stranger.” Both volumes are packed with bangers, and highly recommended. More info here.
