WHO? I’m Jenna Mulhall-Brereton, a photographer based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the US. Born in Ireland to an Irish father and an American mother, I have lived in the US since I was an infant.
I was captivated by documentary photography from a very young age but didn’t seriously pick up a camera until my mid-20s. Photography has been a big part of my life these past 25 years.
WHO? My name is Jonathan Jacquet. I am from Bouillon, a little Belgian town near the French border. I was living in Brussels and I am now based in Liège, where I studied photography in the early 2000s. For photography and music, I’am better known as Dialekte on the net.
WHO? Hi, I am David, born in 1984 and raised in Germany. Though I studied to become a teacher of Mathematics and Spanish, I instead joined my family business renovating homes. I began taking pictures in 2006, trying to catch the “Decisive Moment”.
WHO? My name is Christopher James Trotchie, I was born in Casper Wyoming and I am an Enrolled Tribe member at Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana. I photograph people, places, and anything really. Nothing is off-limits. If it’s happening in the public domain, it’s fair game.
WHO? I am Ilan Ben Yehuda from the city of Ramat Gan in Israel. For a living, I do graphic design for the fashion industry. I studied film photography (black and white) about 25 years ago at Camera Obscura in Tel Aviv. About 12 years ago I started photographing intensively on the street.
WHO? I am Cecilia Guerrero (aka CegroGuerrero), born in central Mexico. I am the daughter of a single mother and would have liked to also be my father’s daughter. I can imagine myself in a small town near the mountains. Every day I think about what my life could be like had he not rejected me at birth. And so I build fragments of myself in images, through the lives of others.
WHO? Hi, I’m Hazel Hankin. A native New Yorker, I lived in Brooklyn most of my life and now live in Jackson Heights, Queens. I’ve enjoyed a long career in photography and teaching.
WHO? Hi. I am Seda Bikan Toksöz. I was born in İstanbul, where I grew up and still live. I have been interested in photography for about four years.
WHO? At a very early age I experienced vast open spaces, driving trucks, tractors and heavy machinery on my parents’ Iowa farm. In addition, my academic background includes sociological and psychological sciences. So, when I bought a camera on a whim, these indelible experiences informed my budding improvisational social commentary as a street photographer.
WHO? My name is Conway Chung. I am an Asian American, born and raised in New York City. I live in Brooklyn and work in Manhattan. I picked up photography as a hobby in 2015 by taking photographs of friends and family. In 2018, I met a couple of photographers around the Bryant Park area and observed how they made candid photographs of people on the busy streets. After looking at these photographers’ work on their social media and websites, I became fascinated with the street photography genre.
