My parents led an itinerant nomadic life and as a child I went along with them. Somehow photography was the perfect match for this kind of life. Today, I’m not sure If I travel to photograph or If I photograph because I travel. My photographic journey started in Brazil in the local press in the 1980s. Latin America was in turmoil and I was privileged to witness and photograph the return of the Latin American democracies and the departure of the dictators. These were my formative years.
Today I photograph on the streets of every city I visit. Photography is my therapy, my work, my love and the structure of my life.
