WHO?
I was born in Germany to Turkish parents. We moved to Istanbul with my mother when I was 8. Once an adult, I lived in England and Romania on different occasions, and have been living in Paris, France the last 19 years. After having studied business administration and marketing I have been working at non photography related jobs throughout my professional life.
I have developed a passion for photography when my daughter was born in 2007. Afterwards with the arrival of smartphones and Instagram I discovered street photography, and that opened a whole new world to me.
WHAT?
It’s mostly about showing the world what I find intriguing or worth to look at. My style changes with time and I aim to improve my vision constantly. However what I shoot does not change that much. I keep on returning to frame intriguing details. I think those are what I see mostly since my childhood.
WHERE?
Paris city center and trains mostly. I also try to shoot when I visit my family in Istanbul or during other travels to other countries.
WHEN?
Whenever I can. Every hour of the day. I like night shooting as much as I like day shooting. In Paris you can loose your motivation as the light is usually flat during the day but nights are always good. City lights, reflections or night life with flash can give me big opportunities.
WHY?
Because photography satisfies my need to get creative. It has given a meaning to my ceaseless observations of my surroundings and the people. Because it’s a never ending challenge and I like challenges. Because it helps me with life and its difficulties by teaching me not to give up over little failures and by making me believe in myself.
