WHO?
I’m Kazu and I live in New York City now; I was born and raised in a small town in Japan. I picked up a camera a couple of years ago, and since then I have loved photography.
WHAT?
I shoot pretty much everything. Most of the images that I share on my social media include people, but I really like all kinds of subjects. I shoot pretty much everything…whatever catches my eyes while walking on the streets.
WHERE?
Mostly New York City at the moment, but recently I’ve been looking for other places to shoot.
WHEN?
Everyday. I always have a camera with me. That’s funny because sometimes you walk 12 hours a day and you don’t see anything, but the next day you see interesting stuff right outside your apartment. You never know.
WHY?
It’s just part of me.
I think photography is a beautiful thing. It’s your way of showing the world what you see. You can capture the moment, the emotion, the action, the memory. It gives you a whole lot of meaning with every picture you take. I take it seriously because those photos are living forever, unless you burn your negatives. They live longer than we do. Of course, I want to be a better photographer one day but the main reason I shoot everyday is that it is almost like proof of my existence. I’ve tried to capture as much as I can.
We’re not promised tomorrow.
