WHO?
A curious Bronx native Chicana that has her heart, head and eyes on the same axis.
WHAT?
You know how when you’re on a steady rhythmic walk and you walk past a window and you notice someone watering their plants with so much care on their windowsill or a couple arguing in the street, with flames in their eyes but yet never really parting, or the way lovers just are, and other details we usually don’t notice because we forget to slow down? I observe those ‘quietly loud’ moments that always mean more; they’re usually symbols. The here and now.
WHERE?
I find myself in all of the 5 boroughs of New York City; The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and even Staten Island.
WHEN?
Every day—like I wear my lipstick.
WHY?
I really enjoy that photography unlocks doors and allows me to easily daydream about the lives being lived; unwanted memories or symbols that flood my mind and heart—those are really the ones that touch me the most. It’s the same with certain poems, or like when you hear a story being sung in a special way. That’s why.
HOW?
With desire and grace.
