WHO? I’m Lorenzo Catena from Rome, Italy. Initially trained as an architect, I discovered my passion for photography in 2016. I’ve always been passionate about cinema and have observed with interest the photography and sequences in the film industry. Photography became a way for me to merge my interest in architecture with a new, creative medium; it also helped me rediscover my own city and fuel my curiosity about ordinary life.

WHO? Sam Ferris, b. 1985, living in Sydney, and originally from Melbourne. I work full time as a high school teacher and have a young family. You’d think that would be enough, but I still take photos every day. It’s a passion, an obsession, a sickness, a calling, I don’t know anymore.

WHO? I was born and raised in Athens, the capital city of Greece, where I still live. I studied Economics and I worked in that field for a few years. My love affair with photography started when I was nine years old and I discovered a camera-shaped water gun. Later, when I was struggling to choose between photography and studies in economics, I chose the secure career path in accounting.

WHO? I’m from Istanbul Turkey. I am a medical doctor, specialising in gynecology. I also studied photography and videography at university. My interest in photography started 9 years ago. But since 2019 l take only candid street photographs.

WHO? I was born in Athens, Greece where I currently live. I have also lived in the UK for many years. I hold a Business Administration and Marketing Degree. Growing up I’ve always been artistically inclined with art in the family.

WHO? I’m an Irishman in London. Been here a long time. Spent time in New York City too, and studied at ICP. I’ve always been a street photographer. As a kid I lived in Ireland, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. That’s a lot of visual and cultural stimulation.

WHO? I was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1973 and although most of my life I have lived in Madrid during all my adolescence I have lived on the island of Lanzarote so you could say that I have a broken heart. I am married, have two children, 4 cats and a Fujifilm XT3.

WHO? My name is Ayla Güvenç İmir. I live in Ankara. After working in the press, I decided to become a teacher. I am a teacher of journalism. Together with my students, we formed a team of 40 people and made pinhole shots, we witnessed every stage of the shooting, and we all jumped with joy when we saw what we recorded for the first time. Photography was my passion. Then I discovered street photography. I have been interested in street photography for 4 years.

WHO? My name is Aslı Gonen, I live in Turkey, in a small city in Central Anatolia. I was particularly interested in art, painting and with the introduction of the Internet and digital photography in our lives, I eventually turned to photography.
Interview with Sonia Fitoussi
WHO? My name is Sonia Fitoussi. I was born and raised in Paris where I studied law. I was working as a lawyer when I had the opportunity to move to London with my family in 2004. I have discovered London with my little Canon G7, all in automatic mode, and when I showed my photos to a gallery in South Kensington, they offered me an exhibit. From then on, everything started, and I took photography very seriously. I have learnt through courses, books, and workshops. One of them was at Magnum in Paris with Matt Stuart and Richard Kalvar. I still think of their advice every day while photographing.
